The mixer of dry mixing mortar production line

The mixer is a key part in the production of dry-mixed mortar, and is also the "heart" of dry-mixed mortar machinery equipment. Over the years, people have developed and applied different mixing principles and designs through experimental research and development and application for different material characteristics and product requirements. For dry-mix mortar, it is believed that the basic requirements for efficient mixing technology are:

  1. Try best to have only one mixing zone and the mixing time is as shorter as possible, 40-120 seconds per cycle is fine;

  2. The residual amount is small when unloading, easy for cleaning or no need cleaning;

  3. Quick discharge speed (10-15 seconds);

  4. Low energy consumption;

  5. Equipped with high-speed blades, which can mix fibers and pigments uniformly at high speed;

  6. The overall wear-resistant design;

  7. Easy maintenance and low cost;

  8. The less spare parts the better.


Working princinple of mixing-dry mixing mortar production line

In order to achieve a proper design, it is helpful to understand the general mechanism of mixing. There are two main mechanisms in the mixing process: convective mixing is a shearing motion generated under the action of mechanical external force, the large masses of materials are sheared and exchanged with each other to achieve uniform mixing; the dispersion movement is accompanied by the movement of the large masses of materials. The resulting turbulence causes the material particles to exchange motion.


Analysis of segregation phenomenon. After the powder material mixed, the segregation phenomenon may occur through movement, which has an important influence on the production process of dry-mixed mortar and the product flowing (storage, transportation, pneumatic conveying at the site, etc.) and construction. Segregation may occur when the materials in the mixture differ in particle size or specific gravity. For example, when the chemical powder and polystyrene particles in the thermal insulation mortar are subjected to vibration and other movements, the light polystyrene particles can float to the surface. Therefore, people only mix the two materials with water at the construction site. During the construction, the particles with variable particle size or different specific gravity will settle in the air at different speeds, so different levels of feeding, unloading and conveying will occur segregation in the silo.


The types of mixer-dry mixing mortar production line

The type of mixer. There are many principles of the mixer, and the commonly used  are gravity mixing, forced dynamic mixing, and pneumatic mixing for powder materials. The mixing technology of modern dry-mix mortar is based on similar mechanics and experiments. Considering the differences in the component characteristics of dry-mixed mortars, the compulsory dynamic mixing principle can be further applied. Some powder materials with strong adhesion, such as pigments, require sufficient shear force to disperse, so that fine pigment particles can be dispersed and mixed. Reliability and so on are attached. At the same time, the overall arrangement of the equipment must be carried out, considering the overall cost.
