Generally speaking, the heat loss of sand dryer machine not exceed 10%. If the heat preservation is proper, the heat loss of large and medium-sized of wet sand dryer machine is about 5%. Therefore, do a good job in the insulation of the drying system is very important, but it doestn't means the thicker of the insulation lalyer the better. In order to prevent leakage of the drying system, the blower and the induced draft fan are generally used in series. After reasonable adjustments, the wet sand dryer machine can be operated in a pressureless state to prevent the drying medium leakage or ambient air leakage which cause a decrease in the thermal efficiency of the wet sand dryer machine.
Before the material enters the sand dryer, pre-dehydration treatment such as filtration, centrifugal separation or evaporator evaporation is used to increase the solid content in the material and reduce the evaporationof the sand dryer. This is one of the energy-saving methods for drying equipment. For liquid materials (such as solutions, suspensions, emulsions, etc.), the pretreatment before drying can also save energy, because the heating materials in the convection sand dryer use the sensible heat of air, and the preheating uses the latent heat of water vapor or residual heat. For spray drying, preheating of the material is conducive to atomization.
According to the definition of the thermal efficiency of the sand dryer machine, increasing the inlet air temperature T1 is beneficial to improve the thermal efficiency of the sand dryer. However, the inlet air temperature is limited by the allowable temperature of the product. In the parallel flow particle suspension sand dryer, the surface temperature of the particles is relatively low, so the inlet air temperature of the sand dryer should be much higher than the allowable temperature of the product.
The partial exhaust air circulating drying system uses part of the waste heat in the exhaust air to improve the thermal efficiency of the sand dryer. However, with the increase of the exhaust air circulation, the moisture content in the hot air increases, the drying efficiency will be decrease, and the drying time of wet materials increase, this increases the cost of the sand drying process. Therefore, it is only recycle only 20-30% heat air in real production.
In addition to the above-mentioned energy-saving methods, energy-saving methods such as indirect heat exchange equipment can also be used to recycle the exhaust air heat from the sand dryer. Commonly used heat exchange equipment include heat wheel heat exchanger, plate heat exchanger, heat pipe, heat pump, etc.
