Physical and chemical features-Viscosity 200000Mpa.s HPMC hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose

1. Appearance: white or off-white powder.

2, particle size; 100 mesh > 98.5%; 80 mesh=100%.

3, carbonization temperature: 280 ~ 300 ℃

4, density: 0.25 ~ 0.70 / cm3 (typically 0.5g / cm3 or so), the proportion of 1.26-1.31.

5, color changing temperature: 190 ~ 200 ℃

6, the surface tension: 2% aqueous solution is 42 ~ 56dyn / cm.

7, dissolve in water and some the solvent, such as an appropriate proportion of ethanol / water, propanol / water, trichloroethane..

HPMC can be used as thickeners, dispersants, emulsifiers, and film-forming agent. Its industrial products can be used in household chemicals, electronics, synthetic resins, construction and coatings.

1. The suspension polymerization-Viscosity 200000Mpa.s HPMC hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose

In the production of synthetic resin, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyvinylidene chloride and other co polymers, suspension polymerization is the most commonly used and must be stable hydrophobic monomer suspended in water. HPMC products as the water-soluble polymer having excellent surface activity, can also be protective colloidal agent, it can effectively prevent the aggregation of polymerization particles . Furthermore, although HPMC is a water soluble polymer although, but it is also slightly soluble in a hydrophobic monomer, and increases the production of polymerizable monomer porous particles,therefore, it can produce polymer to remove residual monomers and Enhance the ability to absorb plasticizer.

How to dissolve High viscosity 200000Mpa.s HPMC hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose?

1. Hot Water: Because HPMC insoluble in hot water, make HPMC uniformly dispersed in hot water in the initiation, then start cooling, three typical methods are described as follows:

1) Put certain volume water in container and heat the  water up to about 70 ℃. Gradually add  HPMC when stirring slowly, in the beginning, HPMC floating on the surface of the water, and then gradually it forms a slurry, cooled the slurry with stirring .

2) Add 1/3 or 2/3 water in a container and heated to 70 ℃, dispersing HPMC, prepare slurry as per method 1);then adding cold or ice water in the remaining space of the container, the following is adding above hot slurry with HPMC to cold water and stirring, the end is cooling this mixture.

2. powder mixing: Mix HPMC powder with equal or more other powder ingredients,sufficiently disperse them  by dry mixing , then dissolved in water,then HPMC dissolves without agglomeration.

3. organic solvent wet: Disperse and moist the HPMC with  organic solvent, such as ethanol, ethylene glycol or oil, and then dissolved in water.
